Milestone #1 – The Pants Fit!

7 Mar

Weight Watchers has their own milestones set for me based on the weight I lose.  For me, one of the biggest milestones was being able to fit into some pants that have fit me for years – but no longer did after I hit my heaviest weight.

I have been approximately 275 pounds for much of the past 13 years.  I got down to 240 at one point (round 1 on Weight Watchers) – but have stayed at the 275 mark for a very long time.  I realize how alarming that number is – believe me, I hated being that weight.

Even worse was when I went off some medicine and ballooned to over 300 pounds.  Believe me, nothing changed in my eating habits (which were poor, admittedly) or my exercise routine (there was none).  I went off the medicine and in approximately two weeks was at my heaviest weight.

This weight meant none of my pants fit me anymore.  Jeans?  See you later.  The only thing I could wear was black business pants.  They had a little give in them that didn’t make me totally uncomfortable wearing them.  I’m a jeans and t-shirt girl though, and I hated no longer being able to wear jeans.

So my first milestone was being able to wear jeans again.  And thank goodness – the day is here!  Yes, they are a wee bit snug.  But I got them on.  I went out in the world wearing them.  Milestone #1 – check!

In other news – things are still going good on Weight Watchers.  Hard to believe I’ve been back at this for 2 1/2 weeks now.  I’m staying within my points – never using the extra weekly allotment or activity points when I earn them.  Hopeful my next weigh in on Sunday goes well.

Congrats!!! I’m right behind you – I’ve got some “skinny fat jeans” lying around that in the next week or two I might be able to get in again. It is a GREAT feeling!! I’m so excited for you!
