Unofficially Down Ten!

27 Mar

I try to not weigh myself in the middle of the week.  Since my official weigh in day is Sunday – if I weigh myself in the middle, see a loss and then it’s not there on Sunday … it can be a terrible feeling.

This week I’ve been having a really hard time staying on the program.  I’ve not gone off Weight Watchers, but I’ve dreamed about it.  A lot.

So today I hopped on the scale – certain I had gained a few pounds.  And committed to being okay with it if I had – we all have our ups and downs in our weigh loss journey.

Imagine my surprise when I got on the scale and had lost 1.4 pounds!  I’ll take it.  It puts me down 10 pounds since starting Weight Watchers on February 18th.

I’m not sure why this week has been so hard.  Let’s take a look at where I’m at:

The Good

  • I’ve not gone over my daily points or used any of my weekly points.
  • I haven’t eaten at McDonald’s, which is my weak point.  I sure have wanted to though!

The Bad

  • I’ve wanted to eat everything in sight.
  • I haven’t exercised.  Not a single time.
  • I haven’t made healthy food choices.  For example, skip eating 1/3 of that carrot cake cupcake!
  • I’ve been snacking at 12:30am.  That’s never good!

The good thing is I’m very aware of the bad habits.  I just need to fix them!  I try to remind myself of my goal – going to Disney World and being able to ride the rides.  I have to reach my goal!

I also use WW. Some weeks, all of my points come from making all healthy choices. Other weeks, not so much. Dieting has its ups and downs. The fact that you’re not indulging, and giving in to your biggest weaknesses, shows how strong you are!

It’s a journey and recognizing things we want to change is a step in the right direction. We are NOT perfect and if we expect it of ourselves, that’s where we “fall apart”. Visual aids are very helpful to me…put up a current pic next to a pic of Mickey/Minnie…that might be helpful as just one reminder of why you are on this journey! Keep at it–you’re doing great!
